A large copper mug. This is French and it dates from c.1860. It is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it has wide castellated seams around the base and up the side. The handle is hollow and there is a strengthening band around the top. Whether it was originally made as a tankard or some type of measure I am not sure, as it has never been tinned. It is in excellent condition.
