V10506 A Shelley 'Star' pattern mould. Marked in black 'SHELLEY' (in a shield) with 'MADE IN' above and 'ENGLAND' beneath. Date: c.1925. Size: 15cm. (5 7/8") diameter by 12.5cm. (5") high. This mould was made in four sizes plus the miniature and this example would be a size 3 although it is not marked as such. It is in excellent condition.

V10501 A Shelley 'Russell' pattern mould. Marked, in black, 'Shelley' (in a shield) with 'ENGLAND' beneath. Date: c.1920. Size: 16.5cm. (6 1/2") diameter by 10.7cm. (4 1/4") high. This design of mould was made in four sizes and this size would be a number 3 although it is not marked as such. This mould is in excellent condition.

V10507 A Shelley 'Savoy' pattern mould. Marked in green, 'Shelley' (in a shield) with 'ENGLAND' beneath. Date: c.1920. Size: 15.5cm. (6 1/8") long by 13.4cm. (5 1/4") wide by 6.3cm. (2 1/2") high. This mould is the same design as the Cecil pattern but the Savoy has the cream top whereas the Cecil is a surround only. It was only made in two sizes. This mould is in excellent condition.

V10218 An earthenware ring mould. There is a printed mark on the side but it has been very badly printed and is very indistinct. You can still read 'MADE IN ENGLAND' and the pattern number 'F5'. It is one of the marks of the Maling factory. Date: c.1920. Size: 14.2cm. (5 5/8") diameter by 7.2cm. (2 7/8") deep. This design would turn out a fluted ring. There is a small piece of kiln grit within the mould but other than this it is in good condition.

An earthenware mould with a geometric design. Unmarked. Date: c.1920. Size: 16.7cm. (6 5/8") long by 14cm. (5 1/2") wide by 7.7cm. (3") deep. This mould has a recessed top with a geometric design and the sides look like fence posts with rounded tops. The design shows on the exterior of the mould as well as the interior. It is in excellent, usable condition but there are a couple of marks on the rim which are the result of stilts being removed after the mould has come out of the kiln. £38. U.S.A.

An earthenware mould with a geometric design. Unmarked. Date: c.1920. Size: 16.2cm. (6 3/8") long by 12cm. (4 3/4") wide by 10.5cm. (4 1/8") deep. This mould has a fluted star shape in the base with fluted sides. The design shows on the exterior as well as the interior. It is in excellent, usable condition but there are a couple of small pieces of kiln grit in the glaze on the outside of the mould. £38. U.S.A.

An earthenware mould with a geometric design. Unmarked. Date: c.1910. Size: 18.5cm. (7 1/4") long by 13.5cm. (5 3/8") wide by 10.5cm. (4 1/8") deep. This mould has a fluted oval shape in the base and the border looks like fence posts with rounded tops. It is in excellent, usable condition. £28. U.S.A.

V10221 An earthenware mould with an ornate classical design to the base. Marked: 'MALING. MADE IN ENGLAND' and also marked, in black print, 'W7'. Date: c.1920. Size: 19.7cm. (7 3/4") long 15cm. (6") wide by 9.5cm. (3 3/4") deep. This mould is quite an unusual design and the moulding is well detailed and good quality. It is in excellent condition and would be a good mould to use. £48. U.S.A.

V10225 An earthenware mould with a swan to the base. Marked: 'MALING. MADE IN ENGLAND'. Date: c.1920. Size: 18cm. (7") diameter by 9.2cm. (3 5/8") deep. This piece is well moulded with a swan to the base and stylised reeds around the border. There is a very tiny chip to the outside of the rim but other than this it is in good condition.

An earthenware mould in an unusual geometric shape. Marked: 'MALING. MADE IN ENGLAND'. This is the mark of C.T. Maling & Sons, of A & B Ford Potteries, Newcastle upon Tyne. Date: c.1920. Size: 15.5cm. (6 1/8") diameter by 8.5cm. (3 3/8") high. This piece is potted in a light earthenware with a white glaze. The design shows on the exterior of the mould as well as the interior although it is much crisper on the inside. The mould is in very good condition, with just slight crazing to the glaze, and it is usable.

V10217 A Maling mould in the form of a castle. Marked, in grey print, 'MALING MADE IN ENGLAND.' Date: c.1920. Size: 15cm. (6") long by 11.3cm. (4 1/2") wide by 10cm. (4") high. This mould would turn out a typical sand castle shape with six turrets. It is in excellent condition and it is a good usable mould.

V10204 A Shelley 'Acanthus' pattern mould. Marked, in green, 'SHELLEY' (in a shield) with 'ENGLAND' beneath. Date: c.1920. Size: 15cm. (6") long by 12cm. (4 3/4") wide by 10cm. (4") high. This mould was made in four sizes and this would have been size number 2, although it is not marked as such. It is in very good condition. Unlike most Shelley moulds this one does not show the design very crisply on the outside.

V9957 A heavy ceramic mould. Marked: VILLEROY & BOCH. The mark includes the word 'BONN'. This mark was used between 1920 and 1925. Size: 19cm. (7 1/2") diameter by 7.5cm. (3") deep. The mould has a well defined spriral design which would turn out a simple but positive shape. It is in excellent, usable condition.

V9934 A small earthenware mould with a geometric design to the base. Marked 'MINTONS' in what is known as 'The standard globe mark', which was used from 1912 -1950. Date: c1920. Size 9.5cm. (3 3/4") diameter by 7.5cm. (3") deep. There is a stylised flower in the base of the mould, and the sides are sharply fluted. It is in excellent condition. £35. U.S.A.

V9927 A Shelley 'Star' pattern mould. Marked in green, 'Shelley' (in a shield) with 'ENGLAND' beneath. It is also impressed with a number '2' in the base. This relates to the size. This mould was made in four sizes plus the miniature. Date: c.1920. Size: 12.5cm. (5") diameter by 11cm. (4 1/4") high. This mould is in good condition but, on the inside, there is a small piece of glaze missing and there are also two pieces of kiln grit.

A Maling earthenware mould. Marked with a printed mark 'CETEM WARE' around a castle. This is the mark of C.T. Maling and Sons, c.1920. Size: 20.5cm. (8 1/2") diameter by 12cm. (4 3/4") deep. This mould turns out a very large, deep fluted ring. It is in very good, usable condition.

A miniature Shelley 'Queens' pattern mould. Marked in black 'Shelley' (in a shield). Date: c.1920. Size: 7.6cm. (3") diameter by 5.5cm. (2 1/8") high. The Queens pattern was made in four large sizes and there were also 2 different sizes in miniature. This mould is in excellent condition.
