A fine quality, 18th century, Wedgwood creamware mould with a lute to the base. This is marked “WEDGWOOD” and it dates from c.1780. It is also impressed with a workman’s mark in the form of a letter ‘V’. It is lightly potted, in creamware, and has a rich yellow glaze. The moulding of the design is very deep and extremely well detailed as   most Wedgwood moulds of this period. This is a rare design and one that we have not seen before in nearly 40 years of specialising in ceramic moulds.

It is in excellent condition.
