A small, 19th century, earthenware mould made by Wedgwood. This has impressed marks 'WEDGWOOD' and the numbers '23' and '4'. There is also a three letter date code but the third letter is slightly indistinct. It is either 'WXY' for 1870 or 'WXN' for 1885. The rose, in the base, is naturalistically modelled and the crisp definition would enable the design to turn out well. There are two very faint hairline cracks, one to the foot and the other to the rim. These can be seen in the images.
