A heavy, earthenware mould with a crayfish design to the sides. This design was first produced by Wileman, at the Foley pottery. The company later became Shelley and the design continued being made but in a finer porcelain. This example is only marked with a registered design number “Rd430208” and it dates from c.1890. There is a feint hairline crack in the base of the mould which is only visible on the interior and is slightly stained. Otherwise it is in good condition.
