An earthenware jelly mould with a geometric design to the base. This design was popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was used by a number of different factories. This example is marked, in black print, “CETEM WARE” above a castle and there is also an impressed “D” above the number “7”. This is one of the marks used by C.T. Maling and Sons of Newcastle upon Tyne and it dates from c.1920. It is a good, useful mould which would turn out well and it is in excellent condition.
