A Grimwade’s British Lion pottery jelly mould. This dates from the 1920’s when advertising wares were becoming very popular. It is marked, to the base, “ROYAL WINTON GRIMWADES MADE IN ENGLAND”. Around the rim, in green transfer print, it reads “THE BRITISH LION BLANC-MANGE & JELLY MOULD”. These were always made in this large size and they turn out the full form of a lion. The lion is well detailed and would turn out very well. It is in excellent condition.
