A Shelley, Westminster pattern jelly mould. This is marked, in green transfer print, “Shelley” within a shield, above “ENGLAND” and it dates from c.1920. The mark is quite worn. Shelley named a number of their jelly mould designs after London hotels and this is one of them. The Westminster Palace Hotel was opened in 1860 directly opposite Westminster Abbey and was the first hotel in London to have hydraulic lifts. The mould is in excellent condition.
