A very attractive, Victorian beechwood breadboard. The border of this board is well carved with a grapes and vines. The carving is quite detailed and the overall effect is very pleasing. The wood has a good, rich, honey coloured patina and the piece dates from c.1880. There are two cracks in the rim of the board. Both are about 5cm. long and run through the width of the carved section. There is also a small burn mark to the centre of the board and the usual scratching, from use.
