An unusually large, Victorian, carved beechwood breadboard. This board is carved with a border of leaves. The carving was originally quite deep but is now well worn with age and use. The border is very wide and the central section, for cutting on, is about the same size as with a standard sized board. This gives the board quite a different look. It dates from c.1860. The face of the board has the usual scratching, from use, but other than that it is in very good condition and the wood has a lovely, honey coloured patina.
