Cruciform pastry tool with rosewood handle

Code: G20425

SOLD

A nineteenth century, brass cruciform pastry tool with a turned, rosewood handle. This is a lovely example, dating from c.1860. The heavy, cast brass tool has a wheel, for trimming the pastry, to the top and there is a diamond shaped marker to one side and a circular one to the other. The turned, rosewood handle is quite simple in form. Generally the piece is in very good condition. There is just slight pitting to the brass, from use, and a small section of the handle has been rubbed down a little, probably were it has been too close to the heat in the past, but this does add character to the piece.

Dimensions: Length 24.2cm.  Width 9.3cm. Diameter of wheel 3.3cm.
