An interesting brass and copper table lighter. This is probably a piece of Trench Art, made by a soldier during the First World War and so dating from c.1915. The lighter is in the shape of a book with the cover in brass and the bindings and corners in copper. It is beautifully made and the metal has a good patina so it would be a shame to take this away by polishing. It is in very good condition.
