An unusual, 19th century, cruciform, brass pastry tool. This is English and dates from c.1860. It has a heavy, cast wheel for trimming the rim of a pie to the end with shaped markers for impressing designs on the ends of the arms. However, unlike most cruciform pastry tools it has a further, circular brass marker to the opposite end of the wooden handle and this makes it most unusual. The handle is turned from a dark mahogany. The piece is in excellent condition.
Dimensions: Length 17.6cm. Width 10cm. Diameter of handle 2.8cm.
