A Victorian, brass trivet with a turned wooden handle. This type of trivet would hang on the front of the fire grate, to support a kettle. This example is cast in brass, with an attractive geometric design and it dates from c.1860. There is an old repair to one of the steel legs but otherwise it is in very good condition.
