A nineteenth century, beechwood breadboard. This board is carved with ‘Our Daily Bread’. The carving to the remainder of the border is now very worn from years of use. It dates from c.1880. There is a 3.5cm. crack in the rim of the board and there are burn marks to the reverse which can be seen in the image. The wood has an interesting grain and quite a rich, honey coloured patina.
Dimensions: Diameter 28.8cm. Depth 1.8cm.
