A pair of 19th century wooden butter pats. Butter pats were used for working the butter and forming it into blocks. These are carved in sycamore and they date from c.1880. The wood has a lovely, rich colour and patina and they are in very good condition. There is just one woodworm hole in the face of one of the pats.
