A beechwood breadboard carved with the word ‘BREAD’. This has a very simple border of long leaves, and the carving is quite crude. It dates from the 1920’s and is typical of its period. There is a burn on the reverse of the board and there are scratches and a cut to the face of the board, from use. The board is also slightly warped where the wood has dried out over the years.
