A Victorian, sycamore breadboard with worn, characterful carving. This is carved with a border of fruits and wheat, which would have originally have been quite deep but is now well worn and rounded. The wood has a lovely, honey coloured patina and the board has a slight warp which is only achievable with the passing of time. There are numerous knife marks to both the face and the reverse of the board, consistent with age and use, and there is a small burn mark to the reverse, on the rim. There is also one very short crack which is quite tight. This can all be seen in the images.
