A nineteenth century, sycamore breadboard, the border carved with leaves and berries. This is quite deeply carved and the wood has a lovely, pale, honey coloured patina.
There is a burn mark to the rim of the board and there is also wear to both the carving and the board in general, commensurate with age and use. The centre of the board has numerous cut marks all consistent with use.
