Code: K23127
A nineteenth century, carved sycamore breadboard. The border to this board is beautifully carved with “Welcome” in an interesting font which is typical of the Arts and Crafts movement. The remainder of the border is carved with ears of wheat tied with ribbons. Bread would have been served on this to welcome your guests to the table. The carving is now quite worn which gives immense character to the piece. It is in very good condition, with no cracks or chips, only scratches from use, and the wood has a lovely, pale patina. It dates from c.1880.
Dimensions: Diameter 29.3cm. Depth 1.6cm.
