A Victorian, carved beechwood breadboard. This is quite a large board and it dates from c.1850. The border is deeply carved with wheat but in addition it has four small panels which are carved with ivy. This is quite an unusual design. The carving is very detailed but it is also quite worn. There is some chipping to the rim of the board but other than that it is in good condition. The wood has a most attractive, golden colour and patination.
