Large, sycamore butter hand

Large, sycamore butter hand

Code: H20409

SOLD

A large, 19th century, sycamore butter hand or pat. This would have been used in the same way as the smaller butter pats, to form the butter into blocks. It is unusual to find such a large example and this dates from c.1860. There is one wood worm hole in the back of the pat but otherwise it is in very good condition and the wood has a lovely, pale patina.

Dimensions: Length 38cm. Width 15.4cm. Depth 1.5cm.
