A large, Victorian, sycamore breadboard. This has a border which is carved with flowers and foliage. The carving would, originally, have been very deep but it is now very worn, from use, which adds character to the board. It dates from c.1860.
There are three wood worm holes in the face of the board and there are a couple of very minor shrinkage cracks. The wood has an attractive, pale patina.
Dimensions: Diameter 32.8cm. Depth 1.8cm.
