A 19th century, beechwood breadboard. This is carved with the word “Bread” in script and there are long, stylised leaves which are very simply chip carved. It dates from c.1890 and is in good condition with just the usual scratches and knife marks to both the face and the underside of the board from use. The wood has an attractive, rich honey coloured patina.
