Our Daily Bread

A well carved, Victorian beechwood breadboard. This board  dates from c.1880. The border is carved with flowers, wheat, leaves and berries and the words 'Our Daily Bread'. The carving was originally very deep and very well detailed but, in parts, it is now quite worn.  The  wood has an attractive, fairly pale patina. There are three quite large chips on the rim of the board but, other than that, is in good condition.
