A lovely quality, Victorian oval breadboard. This is very well carved, in sycamore, with a border of oak leaves. The carving is deep and the wood has a rich, honey coloured patina.
There is slight nibbling to the rim of the board and there is also wear to both the carving and the board in general, commensurate with age and use. There were a number of woodworm holes but these have now been treated and filled with wax.
