A 19th century, sycamore breadboard with a carved border. This is English and it dates from c.1870. The border is carved with “Spare Not”, in an ornate script, ears of wheat, and long, stylised leaves. Some of the carving is quite worn, from use, but the script is well preserved. There are a few wood worm holes in the face of the board but these have been treated and are no longer active. Otherwise the board is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Diameter 29.4cm. Depth 2cm.
