A quality, 19th century, sycamore breadboard. This is well carved with “Welcome” in an ornate script. The remainder of the border is carved with ears of wheat. It dates from c.1880. There a a few splits in the wood, to the rim of the board, and there are also two small burn marks, one of which has resulted in slightly mis-shaping the board. There is wear to the carving, giving character, and the wood has a lovely, rich honey coloured patina.
