A nineteenth century, sycamore breadboard. This board has a lovely, pale patina. The rim is carved with ‘Bread’ and the remainder of the border is chip carved with a simple, stylised leaf design and a cross. It dates from c.1880. There are slight losses to the outer edge and scratches to the face of the board, from years of use, but other than that it is in good condition.
