Sycamore Butter Worker

Sycamore Butter Worker

Code: J21466

SOLD

An early 19th century, sycamore butter worker. This would have been used, during the butter making process, for working the salt into the butter and the water out. This example is carved from sycamore and it is in extremely good condition. There are a few wood worm holes but these have now been treated and the worm is no longer active. There is slight staining from use, but there are no splits or chips, and the wood has a lovely, pale patina.

English. Date c.1830.

Dimensions: Diameter 22cm. Height 10cm.
