A Victorian, beechwood breadboard. The rim of this board is carved with the word ‘Bread’ and some very simple, stylised leaves. The wood has a good, honey coloured patina. There are six woodworm holes in the board but these have now been treated. Other than this it is in good condition, with just the usual scratch marks which you would expect from use. It dates from c.1890.
