A good quality, Victorian beechwood breadboard. This is well carved with the word “Bread” in a cartouche, long leaves and a single flower. The carving is deep and has good detail and the board dates from c.1860. The wood has a good, rich, patina. The board is in very good condition, with minimal wear, just the usual scratching to both the face and the reverse, consistent with use.
