A very well carved, Victorian beechwood breadboard. Although this board is only carved with small flowers and leaves it is quite different. The flowers are more naturalistic than many and the leaf forms are long and elegant. The carving is well detailed and it is still quite deep. It is in very good condition, with just very minimal scratching to the face of the board, from use and a few burn marks to the reverse. The wood has a lovely, honey coloured patina and the board dates from c.1870.
