A nineteenth century wooden butter spoon. This would have been made for use in the dairy and it dates from c.1850. It is carved from beechwood and there is simple, turned decoration on the handle. There is wear to the rim of the spoon, as you would expect with a piece of this period, but it is in excellent condition and the wood has a lovely patina.
