A small, early nineteenth century earthenware child’s plate. This is lightly potted, in pearlware, and it dates from c.1830. The centre is decorated with a black transfer print showing children with a kite, a hole hoop and a ball, and a verse relating to “MY CHILDHOOD”. The border is moulded with flowers and foliage which are painted in coloured enamels. It is in excellent condition.
