An early 19th century, pearlware child’s plate transfer printed with a central scene of Adam and Eve. This is actually titled “Eve. Adam”, as Eve stands to the left of the tree.
The border is moulded with flowers and foliage and both the border and the print are coloured with bright, polychrome enamels. It dates from c.1820.
Condition; A small piece of the green enamel has flaked off from the centre of the plate, just to the left of the tree, and there is a large area of glaze missing from the rim on the reverse.This can all be seen in the images.
