A charming, 19th century, child’s dinner service complete with a selection of metal cutlery, serviettes and serviette rings. The dinner service is marked just with the pattern name “AMADEUS”. There are not manufacturers marks but it is English and it dates from c.1880. It comprises 1 soup tureen, cover and stand, 2 sauce tureens, covers and stands, 2 vegetable dishes and covers, 1 comport, I open serving dish, 2 gravy boats, 5 graduated platters, 10 dinner plates, 6 soup plates, 6 dessert plates and 6 side plates (50 pieces in total). Each is decorated with a blue, transfer printed border design. 

Four of the pieces have minimal damage. The soup tureen has two chips to the rim, the lid to one sauce tureen has a chip to the underside, one gravy boat has a hairline crack and the open serving dish also has a hairline crack. This has all been shown in the images. The other items are all in good condition.

The largest piece, the soup tureen, is 14.5cm. long by 10.6cm. wide by 11cm. high overall. The largest plates are 10cm. diameter and the smallest plates are 7.7cm. diameter. All of the other items are appropriately graduated.

The cutlery which is being sold with this service is aluminium and of German manufacture and the delightful serviettes are each embroidered with the initial “M” to a corner.
