An unusual steel sugar or ice cleaver in the shape of an angel. This piece is very well made. The angel is well formed and there is a small brass rivet forming the eye. The handle, which is in the shape of a boot, is made from a combination of fibre block and brass. This has seen a lot of use and is quite worn. There is also pitting to the steel blade, commensurate with age. This is quite a rare item and it dates from c.1880.
