A steel sugar or ice cleaver in the shape of a fox. This is quite naively shaped, with the fox looking back over its’ shoulder, and it has a wooden handle which is attached by brass and steel rivets. There is a small hole which forms the foxes eye. It is French and dates from c.1890.
It is in very good condition with just very slight pitting to the blade.
