A very heavy, 19th century, steel meat cleaver with a wood and brass handle. This is a good quality, well made piece. The steel blade is quite an unusual shape and the wooden handle is attached by attractively shaped brass fittings. There is pitting to the steel, from use, but other than that it is in very good, usable condition. It is French and dates from c.1860
Dimensions: Length 32cm. Width of handle 2.5cm. Height 16.3cm.
