A super quality, 18th century, copper jug. This is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper, and it has wide, castellated seams around the base and up the side. The flat, strap handle has attractively shaped terminals and the hinged lid has a thumb piece mechanism. There is very minor pitting to the copper, from use, and the tinning, to the interior of the jug, is worn. Generally, for its’ period, it is in extremely good condition. It dates from c.1780.
