A nineteenth century, French copper colander. This is made from a very heavy gauge of copper and it has a simple, steel handle. Originally there was a small handle on the opposite side but this is now missing. The bowl of the colander is 25.8cm. diameter by 10.5cm. deep and the overall length of the piece, including the steel handle, is 45.5cm. Other than the missing handle it is in good condition. It is a good, decorative piece but it could no longer be used as the tinning is badly worn.
