A lovely, 19th century, French copper bucket with a pouring spout. This piece is well made, from quite a substantial gauge of copper. It has been made in a couple of sections, so it has two castellated seams running up one side, about 8cm. apart. There is a steel handle, with a turned wooden grip, and a steel rim to the base. It dates from c.1860. Originally it was probably made as a milking bucket as the interior was tinned. This tinning, although grey, is still in reasonable condition. The bucket has very minor denting, from use, but otherwise is in very good condition.
