Dimensions:
A nineteenth century, French copper cider measure. As these jugs were measures they come in a range of sizes, like the English harvest jugs, and this is quite a small example. The jug was filled to the low point, just above the handle, thus giving the measure. This example is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. The copper has a slightly planished finish and the jug has a wide rim. It is in very good condition.
