A 19th century, French copper bucket. This was probably made for use as a coal bucket as the interior has never been tinned, so it would not have been for use with food. It is well made, from a very heavy gauge of copper. It has castellated seams around the base and up the side and there are steel handles to either side. It dates from c.1860 and it is in excellent condition.
