A nineteenth century, French copper salmon kettle. Originally this would have had a cover and a drainer but now, without them, it makes an excellent jardiniere for a windowsill. They look super on a large kitchen windowsill filled with pots of herbs. This example is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it has castellated seams. It has the typical French form of brass handle to either end. It dates from c.1860 and it is in very good condition.
