A very heavy, 19th century, French copper grain measure. This measure has bands top and bottom, with straps connecting the bands, so that it resembles a drum. The central band has a textured finish and the bands have a smooth, planished finish which gives a nice contrast. It is well made, from an exceptionally heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1860. It is in very good condition.
