Dimensions:
An enormous, and very impressive, Victorian copper harvest measure. This is probably one of the largest harvest measures that would have been produced and it has a capacity of five gallons. It is marked as such, '5 GAL', under the spout. The shape is a very typical English form. It is well made, from a heavy gauge of copper, and it has castellated seams. To the inside of the spout there is a Victorian assay mark and we have shown this in one of the images. The piece dates from c.1850 and it is in excellent condition.
