Code: J21696
A large, French copper cider measure. This style of measure originated in Normandy and they were made in various sizes as measures for use in the cider industry. This example is made from a heavy gauge of copper, which has a planished finish, and it dates from c .1880. It has a turned rim and a hollow handle. It is in very good condition but the interior is worn so it could no longer be used for cider. However, it is watertight so it would make a lovely vase for flower arrangements.
Dimensions: Height 48cm. Diameter 26.5cm. Width 37cm.
