A long handled, 19th century, French copper sifter with steel fittings. This is made from a heavy gauge of copper and it dates from c.1880. The long handle is turned from oak. This was probably, originally for use as a sifter for grain or other dry goods as it has never been tinned for general kitchen use. The handle is slightly loose but otherwise the piece is in good condition.
